Now the dust has settled on the riots a clearer picture of the causes emerges. It is important to look at underlying issues which have created the conditions which led to parts of our cities being turned into anarchic war-zones. The first thing to be said is that these riots are very different to political riots of the 1980's, 1990's and the 2000's. In the past, some riots in parts of England have been described as 'race riots'. For example the riots in 1981 on the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham where race and social issues relating to race were clearly a driving force behind the disorder. This month's riots were different. The rioting was not just black youths directing their aggression at the police, but in fact it was youths of all ethnic groups who seemed more focused on looting than anything else. This was even more pronounced outside of London. As the riots spread to Manchester and Liverpool, it became more and more clear that the term 'race riot' was wrong. The violence also saw different ethnic groups squaring off. Sikhs, Turkish shop owners and Muslim businessmen all tried to protect their shops, businesses and places of worship from the hooded or masked gangs who attacked anything worth money indiscriminately. These scenes were mixed with truly sickening scenes such as the one where a predatory, mixed race, gang descended upon an injured Malaysian student and robbed him. This single scene illustrates that these riots were not an issue of race. Our streets had been taken over by criminal mobs that targeted the innocent and weak simply they became 'easy pickings' when law and order had broken down. It was the raw face of anarchy. It is however clear that indiscriminate mass immigration has played a part in building the social circumstances in which these riots occured. The rioting began in London and spread to other large cities which have all had more than their fair share of mass immigration. Please note this is not to brand all immigrants as rioters – clearly with Sikhs, Turks and Muslims all defending their businesses against rioting youths – this is not the case. However the mass immigration that we have had is very indiscriminate. Not only has it opened England's door to doctors, nurses, engineers and businessmen from all over the world, it has also allowed free passage to criminals, gangsters and those wishing to sponge off our welfare benefits system. This pattern of immigration is very unfortunate for some areas where immigrants have congregated – namely parts of those large cities where the recent riots took place. What's more, the large influx of unskilled immigrants has displaced many indigenous English folk which has left the areas concerned with no sense of community, but rather a sense of unease caused by many small communities all living side by side and eyeing one another with mutual suspicion and distrust. The very incontinence of recent immigration policy has also led to it being increasingly difficult for young people to get jobs. This type of situation is one of the reasons why the English Democrats favor a Points based immigration system like Australia or Canada. Rather than allowing just anyone to come to England, entry would be restricted to those with the money, the education or the skills that would benefit our country. We would put an immediate halt to mass immigration and prevent people coming here who are either criminally minded or who wish to take advantage of our NHS and benefit system. We also pledge a commitment to 100% enforcement of deportation orders - unlike the government's current best of a mere 7% pa.! Another large factor behind the rioting was the lack of order and discipline in society. Young people were once brought up in a community environment where they were inculcated with a sense of religious, national and historical identity and to respect their elders and to know right from wrong. From a very young age children were faced with adults, teachers and police officers who had the power to discipline them. Children were of course still children, however they knew where to draw the line, and if they crossed that line they knew there would be consequences. This order and discipline has now been removed. Successive governments have brought in waves of politically correct legislation taking away the rights of the police, parents and teachers to discipline children. At one time the teachers ran the classroom and were supported by parents, now they are sometimes reduced to cowering in fear as rowdy pupils play hell. Worse still, the rowdy pupils have been empowered. They know fair well that if a teacher does try to administer any form of discipline that the law will protect the 'rights' of the troublemaker. The same is as true in the home as it is in the classroom. Parents are now told it is illegal to smack their children and the police tiptoe around rowdy youths afraid to carry out their job. This has led to a situation where too many young people have no respect for society or for authority figures. Gangs of feral youths now understand they have the whip hand over the police. They know that committing crime will not result in heavy punishment – because throughout their lives it never has. What's more they see a life of crime glorified in the popular media and are aware that there will always be some do-gooder who is more than ready to brand the criminal as the 'victim' and absolve them of their wrong doing. This lack of order and discipline in society has removed the will to use the many powers the police have and this was all too evident in their response to the rioters. Rather than engaging the youth gangs with any degree of force the police stood by and watched – seemingly helplessly – as the gangs looted, burnt and cut a swath of destruction across our city centers. This is a direct result of politically correct policing (and perhaps too much health and safety!). It is now the police who wear the proverbial handcuffs – not the criminals. It would probably be a very accurate assessment to say that the vast majority of police officers present during the riots would have loved nothing more than to be able to do their job and restore order. However the same officers knew that if they had attempted to restore order it forcefully would have been them who would have faced losing their jobs and been prosecuted. If the initial outbreak of rioting had been dealt with swiftly and firmly the problem would have been nipped in the bud. Instead after several nights of rioting and images and reports of police officers doing nothing as gangs of youths walked away with hundreds of thousands of pounds of electronics and designer clothes the message to other trouble makers was all too clear. This lack of action gave the green light to criminal elements and gangs all over England. Copycat violence and looting broke out the length and breadth of the country. The response, or lack thereof, in each affected city was the same. The other frightening observation that can be made is that some of our communities have been so disempowered by political correctness that they have lost the will and the strength to protect themselves and defend their property. This is largely due to a similar policy which has handcuffed our police force. Homeowners and shopkeepers know that if they defend themselves, their interests and their community they could be arrested and demonised by the media whilst the real criminal is handsomely compensated. This is all in stark contrast to English traditions of self help and communal law enforcement. The effects of the policies of successive British Establishment governments have now manifested themselves in the anarchymass disorder, rioting and looting. Our cities have been transformed, our youths lack any respect for authority, our police are handcuffed by political correctness and our communities have broken down and can no longer defend themselves. Now is the time to take England back from the feckless British (and EU-ish) Establishment– before it really is too late!Comments (6)Subscribe to this comment's feedShow/hide comments No Respect!
This is a direct result of how a liberalized mentality has protected the youth of today from being disciplined, moulded and conditioned into the decent, civilised people England once was.
The Government Has Let Us Down
A very good article. The really disgusting thing about the riots is the whole affair could have been ended on the first night if the police had been allowed to do their job. Political correctmess and a liberal approach to policing has not only made our police force look soft but cost the taxpayer £millions and allowed businesses and homes of law abiding citizens to be destroyed. Liberalism is not only destroying our country, but also the lives of innocent people.
Time to Grasp the Nettle
An excellent article.Without doubt unfettered immigration has had immense effect on all our lives. As our green and pleasant land is concreted over to provide home, and, more homes we look on as mere spectators unable to halt the ever diminishing green and pleasant land that is England.
The growing population puts incredible strain on our services. The education system struggles to teach basic skills of reading, numeracy and literacy as more and more children enter the classroom with English as their second language. The National Health Service was not designed for freeloading health tourists. The married, two parent family is no longer the norm, with alternative "families" actively encouraged. A manufacturing industry which is an essential part of a growing economy as all but ceased, and replaced with a thriving but non productive service industry. The legal system is like a toothless tiger when dealing with "antisocial behaviour" by "I know my rights" louts, and, thugs that claim our towns and cities for their personal enjoyment in what ever way they see fit. The riots and looting bear testament to this as we witnessed the sickening sight of youths marauding through London, followed by copycat events in several other cities, with no fear of reprisal or punishment. Our elected politicians have a duty to all law abiding citizens to tackle this problem head on without fear or favour. The great and good were out in full force over the weekend trotting out the usual wornout excuses. Deprivation, lack of education, no employment prospects etc.etc. Originally, it was claimed the rioting and looting was triggered by youths protesting at the shooting of Mark Duggan, a known drug dealer and "gangster." What ever the cause, it must never be allowed to happen again. ETHNIC ORIGIN WAS A HUGE FACTOR IN THESE RIOTS
Race was clearly a factor in these riots, certainly in London and Birmingham. The riots started in London, this is where law and order completely broke down and the police had to stand back and let the mob loot, where the worst violence was, most arson attacks etc.The rioters in London appear to have been mainly black/mixed race-this is further evidence,if any more was needed, that post-war immigration policy was a failure.Even if you ignore the race issue and attribute the riots to poverty, the conclusion is the same-don't bring in lots of poor people,as we continue to do.
I also think these riots are exactly like the late 70's and 1980's riots,in that the Establishment decided their immigration policy wasn't to blame,it was all the fault of racist policemen. This time round, guess what ,their immigration policy still isn't to blame! Write comment |
