Make St George's Day a Public Holiday

The English Democrats want to make St George's Day a National Holiday. We have launched a petition to gather signatures to force a debate in Parliament over the issue and make the politicians listen to the English people.

The English Democrats would make St George's Day a national holiday. The Scots celebrate St Andrew's Day, the Welsh Celebrate St David's Day and the Irish Celebrate St Patrick's Day. The Irish, Welsh and the Scots all celebrate their Patron Saint's days. The English should have the right to celebrate St George's Day!

The English Democrats are the only party fighting to ensure St George's Day is a recognised public holiday. We understand the importance of national pride. Every other country in the British Isles and across Europe understands the importance of national pride and make sure they celebrate their national pride.

More and more people are now starting to show their English pride. There is a growing feeling of patriotism from the English who simply want the right to celebrate their heritage and culture like everyone else.

Every year the call for St George's Day to be made a national holiday has grown stronger. Individuals and communities have started arranging St George's Day celebrations and the numbers doing so have risen each year. Yet the establishment politicians still choose to ignore our Patron Saint's day.

The English Democrats are going to make sure that the politicians sit up and listen! We have launched our Campaign to Make St George's Day a National Holiday. We are now collecting signatures for a petition to Parliament.

If we can collect 100,000 signatures we can force a debate on the issue in Westminster. By doing your bit and signing our petition you can help put pressure on the government to listen to the voice of the English people.

You can sign out petition by clicking here.
