The English Democrats are standing in the Rayleigh Central Ward for election to Rochford District Council on December 1st. Our candidate is John Hayter, who took 23% of the vote when he stood in Rochford in May. In May John stood in the Hullbridge Ward in Rochford. The results were: Angela Hale - Conservative - 990, John Hayter - English Democrats - 540 (23%), Martin Crocombe - Green - 425 and Angelina Marriott - Labour - 402. Since 2007, ignoring General and County Council Elections, the English Democrats have fought 16 District Council Elections in the area. We have come second in ten. We have polled over 30% on 3 occasions, and over 25% on 3 occasions. Our average poll is 20% of the vote. The other candidates for the forthcoming by-election are Cheryl Roe, Conservatives and Elena Black, Liberal Democrats. We wish John all the best for the forthcoming election.
