In 2007, Abigail Howarth, then an 18 year old student, was barred from applying for a training programme with the Environment Agency because her ethnic background didn't fit the bill – she is white and English. Abigail, who wanted to join the Agency's flood management programme, saw an advert in a local newspaper offering positions in the Anglia region where she lived, complete with a £13,000-a-year tax-free grant. She was told there was no point submitting her application because of her ethnic background - but she could have applied if she had been white and Welsh, Scottish or Irish!The advert made no mention of the ban on white English applicants, merely noting that candidates from ethnic minorities, such as "Asian, Indian' and "White Other, e.g. Irish, Welsh, Scottish', were encouraged to put themselves forward for the position. Abigail, who was awaiting the results of A-Levels in environmental science, geography and geology, emailed PATH National Ltd, the company that was handling applications. She asked: "Am I correct in assuming that as I am English (White) I need not apply as the preference is for the minorities you have listed, or can I apply anyway?' Three days later, PATH recruitment officer, Bola Odusi, replied: "Thank you for your enquiry unfortunately the traineeship opportunity is targeted towards the ethnic minority group to address their under representations in the professions under the Race Relations Act amended 2000." Abigail said: "I was really disappointed. To be told being "White English" ruled me out in my home country shocked me. I really wanted to work for the agency and I was very excited - followed by feeling very disappointed. I would not have minded had I been beaten for the position by somebody better able than me." The English Democrats believe this is discrimination and were active at the time in helping– yet sadly such discrimination is often officially tolerated. If any other ethnic group were to be discriminated against in such a way then there would be a massive investigation by the government and other publicly funded bodies. This whole problem is born from the twisted creed known as 'political correctness'. One key aspect of political correctness is that a person, an institution or a government is politically correct when they cease to represent the interests of the majority, and become focused on the deliberate subversion of English national culture and interests, the denigration of English history and of the English themselves, and the promotion of the objectives of minority pressure groups. Political correctness allows protection for every other ethnic group – including white Irish, white Scottish and white Welsh. This discrimination is actually against the law, but is officially tolerated. It seems absurd that everyone else in England is protected but not the English! The English Democrats would encourage anyone in Abigail's position to sue the discriminator. As we say in our manifesto the English Democrats would carry out a review of all educational establishments, legal establishments, quangos, departments or other government organisations that are promoting political correctness will be fundamentally reconstituted and/or have their funding withdrawn or, where appropriate and if possible, be closed down. In particular, the so-called Commission for Equality and Human Rights will be closed. Private organisations that promote political correctness will not be awarded government contracts. We will also carry out a review of all laws and regulations, and will amend or, where appropriate and if possible, completely repeal those laws and regulations that foster and promote political correctness. This is England, the home of the English. No English man or woman should be discriminated against in their country or put to the back of the queue.

This is absolutely disgraceful - and I am a Scot. In Glasgow our young people, perhaps at college or Uni simply cannot get part-time jobs like waiters etc due to all these jobs being taken by the Polish. There is a factory in my local area - 90% of the workers are Polish. Our own people, and white English, are bloody third class citizens. Our young people are being left to rot.

Positive action needed.
This kind of discrimiation is only ignored by the politically correct brigade when the person who is being discriminated against is white. There are literally lawyers champing at the bit to represent "others".

I am not surprised by this at all! But I am outraged. I notice that the lady she spoke to at PATH, Ms Odusi, had no qualms in telling her that she was not the right ethnic minority for the job, but would she have been so brave if she had been someone of Black or Asian ethnicity? I doubt it, she would have been waiting for the press on the doorstep if she had done that!! This situation will not improve while people accept this kind of thing, more 'White English' people need to stand up for what is right, a job should be given on credentials, not on what colour your skin is or what part of the UK you come from! Disgraceful!!

Another point re:ethnic minorites is that in places like Tower Hamlets and now too many others, native whites are now the ethnic minority but don't hold your breath for any special dispensation for this particular ethnic minority! Civil Rights, what about civil wrongs? It is indeed a case of making a stand. but talk is cheap, judge a person by their deeds at the next election it would be an important act to stand as a candidate in your local area!

English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish can ONLY be white !
Upon studying the origins of the English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish they can only be described as white. This is NOT racist but a fact of nature. These nations began as tribes and are basically still that. However, ALL people who were born in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are British. Britain is a manufactured nation not a naturally evolving one.

While the people that make theses policies wake up to a purple sky every morning. They are oblivious to the fact. That, in making these policies creates racial friction. An Arab can call a white woman, a white whore and tell her to cover her face, with fear of prosecution. Yet any response like " your Muslim ways are not law in this country" can be turned into accusations of racial hatred, possibly a conviction too!! It shows how disgraceful things have become in this country, when the police have a mandate called `POSITIVE RACISM`. Which means if you are white and English you have ZERO RIGHTS when it comes to being racially abused. I believe that if the English way of life continues to be eroded away. Then this country will definitely end up in revolt. With racial motivated crimes increasing tenfold. I for one do not want to see that happen. Unfortunately unless EVERYONE who has a legal right to live here is protected by the same laws, then racial hatred will increase. Brought about by one government after another failing to look out for the interests of the electorate.

A couple of years ago in Oxford, I was told someone went to a 99p shop in Cowley to apply for a job and was told we only recruit our own. The people in the shop are indian or pakistani's. The shop is part of a franchise of shops all over England and in other 99p shops I have been into, the staff are white or a mixture of races. The shop in Cowley Oxford is all Indian or pakistani. I do not know what the outcome was of this incident, but the shop is still open and still all asian staff. Another incident at the shop was when an old lady was in the queue and when she was paying, she couldn't hear what the woman on the till said. The woman on the till said a bit louder, "Can't you speak English." and with a shocked look replied, "Of course I can speak English, maybe you ought to learn it." a few people in the queue (politiacal correct people) said the old lady was being racist, as usual they didn't hear the full conversation, until they were told by another customer what had really happened, whereas the other replied, "Well, yes, but she shouldn't have made that comment to a member of staff. In other word, no condoning what the asian woman said, but the old lady who was English and white. This isn't right.

This situation has been around for a long while. I was shocked when on a doctor's form I was described as North European.Thankfully now I am White British. I have friends all over the world and admire that they want to better their prospects but it should be on equal terms.
I have travelled recently and was termed a foreigner and was treated differently to the natives e.g paying much higher prices to enter buildings of interest and other charges. I accepted this as I was not in my own country however I found it amazing as here everybody pays the same price. My family could not find housing due to an influx of immigrants who were given priority over them. Political Correctness has made matters worse I think as by this type of discrimination is not fair, it encourages racial tension not helps matters. Every country and person has a right to keep their traditions and heritage and should not be forced to drop them in case it offends other nations. There is an old saying"When In Rome do as the Romans do " meaning follow the laws of that land. I agree with this statement . I am a WHITE BRITISH woman who is proud of her country but also saddened that my heritage is being taken away by stupidity under the guise of fairness.

It is hardly surprising that many English now live in other countries as the system here is appalling. I am not a racist at all, but it totally winds me up how the government just sit back and let this happen. No wonder nobody ever respects politicians when they make up such ridiculous rules on Political Correctness among other things. And they wonder why there are so many White British out of work - hardly surprising. Oh but when we are out of work and have paid our NI etc for years before and our partner works, we can only claim for a short period. Had I been or any other race I would have got everything given to me on a plate. These rules need to change. The white British are the ones being discriminated. They should fall in line with us not the other way around so we do not lose our heritage. No other country does this for us. No wonder alot of immigrants want to come here - we give them everything !

So why didn't you prosecute?
I think i am missing something here. I have no disagreement with the sentiments expressed, but if the English Democrats feel so strongly about this apparent breach of the Law, then why didn't they help Abigail, or anyone else in a similar position, to take the politically correct organisation to court for discrimination? We can all get upset about the situation but the Law is there to be used if it is being abused. An organisation could tolerate/ignore discrimination but the courts cannot.

When is this country going to be proud to BRITISH
I live in an area that has alot of east europeans, I watch them go to work but I know most sign on as they are allowed to. My problem is that I am not allowed to sign on as my wife works. Yes we are a minority as we cannot do anything in this country without someone commenting but they can work and sign without people even flinching. IF you report them you get charged with being a racist. What worries me is that even the asian societys are getting in on the act.

Just got this email from a English friend. I live in Spain, soon to go Singapore. England has gone to the dogs, thats why I left the shambles in 2001 for a better life. What we will be
I can see this country becoming like other countries where they have been illundated with immagrants who think they have a right to do just as they please.
I am English and very proud to be so. Its about time the government woke up to what is going on and did something about it. I came out of a shop near to me a few months ago and a Somalie women walked out in front of me with about 8 children rangeing from the age of about 11 to a baby in pram 6 to 8 months and almost a full term baby in her tummy. They drive around new cars live in homes especially built for them by our councils and think they own the place. I am a pensioner who finds it hard to live on the old age pension we get. Its time the government took stock. I know of a person who came to this country, lived in a flat for 9 years on the dole then got a council house was given x amount of money to move and asked for more as he didnt think it was enough he was moving a short distance from where he was living to his new home. Its about time something was done about it
