Nine out of ten people who joined the workforce last year were foreign nationals, official figures revealed. UK nationals accounted for only a tiny fraction of the rise in employment among working age people. The figures, produced by the Office for National Statistics, reveal that employment among working age people rose by 181,000 in the Coalition's first year. Yet employment levels among British nationals rose by just 14,000, or less than 8 per cent of the total. Employment among non-UK nationals rose by 163,000 during the period – equal to more than 90 per cent of the total. These figures prove that the Government's drive to get millions off benefits and into work cannot be achieved without further curbs on immigration.Sir Andrew Green, chairman of the think tank Migration Watch UK, said: 'Individual statistical methods do not always reveal what is going on because there are so many different factors involved, but the situation is now crystal clear – a huge proportion of new jobs created in the economy are going to foreign nationals. 'We really must now improve the skills and incentives for British nationals while also reducing foreign immigration where we can. Otherwise, from the point of view of British workers, this risks becoming a jobless recovery. Between 1997 and 2010, more than half of the rise in employment in the UK was accounted for by foreign nationals. The latest figures suggest that the situation has become even more stark as the economic recovery slowly gets underway. The English democrats have often pointed out the problems mass immigration can cause. The fact that the overwhelming majority of jobs go to immigrants whilst our own people are left on benefits is a scandal. More frightening though is the fact this has been going on for over a decade and that the problem is worsening. We believe that the government should pursue policies which provide the conditions necessary for full employment. However this can never be achieved if the government continues to fill available jobs with immigrant workers. This will constantly leave millions of our own people out of work and on benefits. Our aim should be to meet the need for skilled workers from within. The English Democrats do not accept the fallacious but widely publicised economic arguments for mass immigration. For the most part they greatly exaggerate the economic benefits and wholly ignore the economic, social, and cultural costs. The people of England have never voted for nor supported mass immigration. The English Democrats support whatever measures are necessary to bring mass immigration to a complete end. It's time to put our own people first. If we are to recover from this economic downturn the recovery must come from our businesses which must be staffed by our own homegrown workforce. |

Good news for the people that own and run businesses as their labour costs are kept down, but bad news for workers as they can demand less for their labour.
The more you have of something, the less worth it has. Same holds true to people.
